What’s your top 5?

I love it when clients at my London hypnotherapy clinic have in insight, they suddenly see things, themselves and the world differently. They have learnt something in that moment that frees them from old patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviour.

There is a running article on BBC News website asking various people what are the five things they have learned in their life, and they include:

1. Listen – because you can learn from anybody.
2. Question everything
3. Rely on your intuition
4. Always reflect on your motives when you are dealing with your children
5. Things are never as bad as they seem.
6. Stop worrying
7. Happiness is the opposite of selfishness
8. Live by water
9. Learn from experience – not just university
10. Be yourself
11. You can’t spend too much time with your children.
12. Always make time every day to read a book that has nothing to do with your work.
13. No where in the world is more beautiful than Scotland.
14. Criticism is a good thing.
15. Never judge by first impressions.

I think my top 5 would be:

1.  Don’t trust your thoughts, they are not reality
2.  There’s no such thing as failure, just feedback
3.   Be awake to the monent
4.  Money doesn’t buy happiness
5.  You can’t spend too much time with your family
