Be free from thinking about food

‘I just want to be free from thinking about food all the time.  What I should be eating, what I shouldn’t.  Craving something I shouldn’t have….’   Anna was telling me something I have heard from many clients when we talk about wanting to lose weight.  She wanted to loose a few pounds to look better and feel healthier.  She wasn’t obese although we all know that obesety is problem that is growing in our society.  It is no surprise to see the news article on the BBC website ‘Diabetes rate double’.
I also noticed another BBC news article talking about a new drastically low diet that can help with type 2 diabetes.  At 600 calories a day drinking diet shakes etc. you can imagine this could be hard to maintain and surely is not sustainable longer term.   My clients are testimony to the fact diets don’t work.   They experience the typical yo-yoing of weight and usually hypnosis is the last thing they try.
I am often asked whether I offer the hypno gastic-band weight loss system to help you lose weight (which is different to hypno diet).  I don’t because I believe that although it  may change the eating behaviour it doesn’t deal with the underlying reasons why some people eat more than they want or need.  It can just be bad habits which they find hard to let go of (particularly as your unconscious mind controls over 90% of your behaviour).  But usually i find there is some emotional link to the eating whether for comfort, reduce stress/anxiety, reward.  Clients are often surprised when we uncover this link and equally surprised at how easy it is to lose weight and be naturally healthy when we let it go.  They usually experience higher self esteem and more confidence as well as naturally being more active and enjoying life more.
Darin is a case in point.  At just below the 21 stone he had to be to receive the gastric band surgery on the NHS he decided to eat himself to the limit.  His story made the national press.  Thankfully it was picked up by Trevor Silvester the founder of Cognitive Hypnotherapy and voice of Thinking Slimmer who offered to treat him with the same methods I was trained in with Trevor.  Well, his life has complelty changed.  He has taken up running, his relationship with food has changed and the weight is falling off.
This week (week 17) is about exercise and how I have improved since I started on the 5th April 2011 Week Six on my journey. We are only talking just about two and a half months the improvement is truly amazing, and this is helped by my weight loss during this period as well. My weight in week six was 118.8kg my weight this week is 105.5kg which is a weight loss of 13.3kg or 2st 1.3lb or 29.3lb.

The calories I have used since I started are April 6,811 calories May 11,082 calories June 5,311 calories which is a total of 23,204 calories. I have also spent nearly 54 hours exercising during that time and to be honest 95% of that as been done willingly. I am convinced that my weight loss during this period would not be as great without the exercise and training for the Great South Run.

If you help changing your relationship with food contact me to arrange a risk free session to talk about how hypnosis or hypno diet as it is often called can help you.
